Challenge has a provider agreement with the NYS Dept of Health, Bureau of Early Intervention, to provide EI Services. Our program is approved, regulated and funded by NYS Dept of Health and the NYC Dept of Health & Mental Hygiene. The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a public program for children under the age of 3 who are either suspected of having or at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. Eligibility for EIP can be determined only by state-approved evaluators under contract. All needed EI services for eligible children are identified in collaboration with the parent and must be authorized by the NYC Early Intervention Official. The Service Coordinator will arrange for service providers, considering the individual needs of the child and family, as authorized by the NYC Early Intervention Official. EI Services may be delivered in childcare settings or community locations on request. Parents are responsible for paying any fees with childcare in such locations. All EIP Services are provided at no cost to parents. Health Insurance may be used for approved services.
